Abstract

The Ubiquitous Web concept encourages the application of existing well-known and state-of-the-art web technologies in Ubiquitous Computing scenarios. A particular interpretation of the Ubiquitous Web is the Pervasive Semantic Web, where the joint synergies of the Semantic Web model and Ubiquitous Computing technologies are integrated in order to create intelligent environments populated by smart objects. In this paper we present a general vision and preliminary results on the evaluation of SOAM – Smart Objects Awareness and Adaptation Model –, a pure 100% Web-based environment reactivity model that uses orchestration mechanisms to coordinate existing smart objects in Pervasive Semantic Web scenarios in order to achieve automatic adaptation to user preferences
