The ACROSS project modifies the design of social robotics, blocked in providing predefined services, going further by means of intelligent systems. These systems are able to self-reconfigure and modify their behavior autonomously through the capacity for understanding, learning and software remote access. ACROSS provides an Open-Source development community to exploit different technological advances, some of them initially unconnected with Robotics. Taking advantage of this synergy, ACROSS will be the starting point from which new standards in robot applications will be built. The main technological goals of ACROSS are the following: Improve emotional and cognitive capabilities of Social Robots. Context-awareness perception. Establish discovery, composition and execution services using Autonomic Computing Techniques. Open Source software architecture based on distributed components supported by an Open-Source Development Community. Swarm robotics module.

The main objective of e-Life project is to provide all the necessary technological infrastructure to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and those who assist them too. This initiative will provide services to help people with intellectual disabilities to perform daily activities independently inside and outside the home. Therefore, the aim of the project is to research, develop and implement technological tools, based on technology platforms, for people with intellectual disabilities without absolute autonomy promoting e-inclusion with ICT-based solutions. This initiative will provide a new typology of innovative products, creating a new business segment. It expects to create a system for tracking and monitoring the actions taken by the person with intellectual disability during the daily routine in order to be more independent

TALISMAN

tipo de documento Proyecto

The TALISMAN project aims to research and demonstrate transferrable solutions to society by offering services based on information and communication technologies in order to promote personal autonomy in prevention and monitoring scenarios. The four core objectives of TALISMAN are the following: To analyse and validate emerging multimodal sensing technologies which are reliable for prevention and monitoring in the personal environment. To develop interoperability procedures at a semantic level which ease the effective and efficient convergence of personal autonomy supporting technologies. To obtain resulting personal social and health profiles, based on knowledge, which serve to manage essential and high quality information useful for third parties responsible of providing prevention and monitoring services. To create and evaluate in real scenarios user-oriented secure services provision framework including extensible and interoperable algorithms and software components to provide accessible interaction, both locally and remotely, to all key stakeholders. For further information, please visit the TALISMAN website(http://www.morelab.deusto.es/talisman/).

The goal of this project is to develop an automated, intelligent, modular platform with configurable parameters to manage, recommend and publish real-time information for tourism facilities and equipment, and to provide advanced services for the tourism providers, users and visitors. BaliaTour will use the concept of tourism facilities and equipment (i.e. providers) to categorise stakeholders in the tourism value chain, i.e. as hotels and hotel chains, rural accommodation and resorts, cruise liners, marinas, conference centres, cultural institutions and natural resources (parks). The idea is to create a new ITC-based tourism product that situates Basque technology-based firms in a strategically advantageous position within the tourism sector. The development of this product will be based on knowledge transfer from members of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network to companies working in the sector. For further information, please visit the Balia Tour website(http://www.tourgune.org/en/4/22/0/0/projects-baliatour.html).

The CBDP project suggests the creation of context-based digital personalities (DP) as a proxy between digital surroundings and the final user. DPs will benefit from mobile technologies for context-creation, maintenance and usage; and from semantic technologies for formal decisions and verifications. Usage of DPs will simplify everyday interaction between users and digital environments and will provide a framework for implementing value-added services for mobile operators.

The ISMED project main objective is to provide the infrastructure that facilitates the development and deployment of intelligent cooperative environments equipped by an “ecosystem of embedded devices”. This is, the intelligent cooperation among embedded devices equipped with wireless communication capabilities but low computational features to conform more intelligent, useful and assistive working or living environments. The specific objectives of this project are: Add intelligence through sensing, reasoning and learning to the embedded devices that surround us in the environments we are at during our daily activities. Allow the discovery and cooperation (choreography) of the services offered by those diverse devices to define new composed logical services which concatenate and coordinate the functionality of individual devices. Create a middleware platform easily integrated into conventional embedded devices which adds intelligent cooperative capabilities to them. Open Source software architecture based on distributed components supported by an Open-Source Development Community.

Sentient Graffiti

tipo de documento Proyecto

Sentient Graffiti enables mobile users to profit from the benefits of Ubiquitous Computing in uncontrolled environments, only requiring in exchange, the participation in a community of users interested on publishing and consuming context-aware empowered annotations and services. Users annotate objects and spatial regions with multimedia data or web services which are only made available to other users when those match the contextual attributes (location range, period of time, and so forth) previously assigned to the resources. A virtual graffiti can be thought of as a virtual post-it note in the form of an XML document which combines some content (multimedia presentation or web service front-end) with some keywords summarising the content, and some contextual attributes (profile of creator, location, time interval and so on) which restrict who, when and where can those annotations be seen.
